The Dwarf Did It...

Hunting Prince Dracula

Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalo

In this New York Times bestselling sequel to Kerri Maniscalco’s haunting #1 debut Stalking Jack the Ripper, bizarre murders are discovered in the castle of Prince Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Dracula. Could it be a copycat killer…or has the depraved prince been brought back to life?

Following the grief and horror of her discovery of Jack the Ripper’s true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth has no choice but to flee London and its memories. Together with the arrogant yet charming Thomas Cresswell, she journeys to the dark heart of Romania, home to one of Europe’s best schools of forensic medicine…and to another notorious killer, Vlad the Impaler, whose thirst for blood became legend.

But her life’s dream is soon tainted by blood-soaked discoveries in the halls of the school’s forbidding castle, and Audrey Rose is compelled to investigate the strangely familiar murders. What she finds brings all her terrifying fears to life once again.

My Review

I loved every second of this book! It kind of breaks my heart that it took me almost 3 weeks to read it….. (Been sick and what not, so I haven’t been reading). Anywho…..

Cresswell and Wadsworth are such a perfect duo! I love their banter and Thomas Cresswell is totally book boyfriend worthy even though he s super cocky. I really loved the scenario surrounding Dracula and I loved the way this mystery played out. There was ONE shocking reveal for me this time. Everything else I had figured out (especially after reading Stalking Jack The Ripper and knowing the story style). I also LOVE the relationship between Thomas and Daci. I was happy I bought the edition of this book that had bonus content with the letters between them.

I liked the Romanian mythology and legends that was included in this book, as well as the chosen location for the school. I have ALWAYS loved superstitions and am very superstitious myself. I also LOVE stories that involve Dracula and this was a fresh take on it me. There was a lot of research that went into this book.

Once again we have a great, well written story, with likable characters. Characters you want to smack. Twists and turns. Plenty of morbidity. I love this series and can’t wait to dive into the third book!

Have you read this book? Drop a comment! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
