The Dwarf Did It...

Book Tag: 90’s movies to books

I saw this book tag a couple weeks ago on thepbkpilgrim blog. As a 90’s kids I HAD TO do it.

Pretty much each section is just going to take a movie from the 90’s, a feeling, and then you have to pick a book that gave you those same feelings and vibes.

Lets dive in!

She’s All That: Name a book couple that is an odd pairing but they still fit perfectly.

Neomi Laress and Conrad Wroth from Kresley Cole’s Dark Needs At Night’s Edge. She is a ballerina turned phantom and he is a vampire so that right there is a strange mash up by itself. This was an awesome paranormal romance and of course, given the genre, they live happily ever after.

10 Things I Hate About You: A book/series that you have a love/hate relationship with.

I currently have a love / hate relationship with a series called Chroma Crossing Chronicles by S. Yurvati. It isn’t because I hate the series, I was asked to read and review this series by the publicist and I’m just falling a bit behind because life likes to keep happening at the moment. I hate making promises and then not delivering.

Clueless: A character that is totally clueless but you love them anyways.

For this one I am going to go with Xander from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. That was my FAVORITE show way back in the day. I recently bought the Buffy The Vampire Slayer 20 Years of Slaying: Watcher’s Guide by Christopher Golden for my marathon on my birthday AND I have plans to read Slayer by Kiersten White in January! OHHH Anya!!!! Her too!!!!

Titanic: Name a book that made you cry.

Old Yeller by Fred Gipson was the sadest book in the world when I read it as a kid.

American Pie: A book that makes you laugh.

Pretty much every book in the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris had a “laugh out loud” moment. I loved the sarcasm. Amazing book series.

Can’t Hardly Wait: A book with a crazy party.

Can we take a moment to relive the party in Legendary by Stephanie Garber where we get introduced to the Prince of Hearts? I know this answer isn’t 90’s highschool type party but still…. LOOOVED IT!

Cruel Intentions: Name a character you can never fully trust.

Prince of Hearts from Stephanie Garber’s Caraval series. Easy. I love this character and hope to see more of him in Finale.

Drive Me Crazy: Name your favourite ‘boy next door’ or ‘girl next door’ couple.

I want to say Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky from To All The Boys I Loved Before BUT unfortunately I have only watched the Netflix movie. I have not read the book series yet. It’s on my TBR. A couple from a book series I have read would be Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe from Anne Of Green Gables. If that counts….. They did “drive each other crazy”.

Scream: A book with a memorable villain.

Lothaire from Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark is one of my FAVORITE villians. I squealed when he got his own book in the series titled Lothaire of course LOL!

The Craft: Name a book with witches.

The most recent book I read with witches was Hocus Pocus & The All-New Sequel by A.W. Jantha. I’m going to be starting The Black Witch Chronicles soon and I hope it rocks!

Do you have similar answers? Let me know in the comments! In the meantime, I tag all my fellow 90’s kid subscribers and enjoy this ridiculous YouTube video! HAHA!
