Masters of Disguise: OwlCrate 09/2018

It’s that time again!! I love book mail and my OwlCrates are ALWAYS my favorite time of the month! September 2018’s theme was “Masters of Disguise”. This box was pretty awesome! So glad I didn’t skip (I had already read the book…)!

^^ Look at it in all it’s glory! As you can see the book was Mirage by Somaiya Daud. If you follow my OwlCrate post’s you’ll know that was my guess when I heard the teasing description. Plus I had already read an ARC of it a few month prior!

^^ This chapstick from Geek Fire Labs is awesome! I used it right out of the box. I love the apple spearmint smell of it. Not to mention it is inspired by The Kiss of Deception, obviously!

^^ As always, there is a pin with a piece of the art work from the spoiler card. I really need to do SOMETHING to get these babies on display. They are always unique and need some showing off. I’ve had the idea of a cork board OR turning them into fridge magnets. What do you do with your pins? Let me know in the comments!

^^ So I have NOT read the Grim Lovelies yet. I can’t get my hands on an ARC so this was just playing with my heart. This is a really cool gold color called Tricks and Whispers. It might be small but this nail polish is DURABLE. I painted a few fingers (see below) then cleaned my whole house with no top coat and it didn’t chip! Haha! Oh and like the little card says… Dont forget to pre-order Grim Lovelies.

^^ These fingerless gloves are like my new favorite thing. These are inspired by Six of Crows and as you can see I’m willing Fall to come! Unfortunately, sporting gloves, Grim Lovelies and matte black nail polish isn’t going to summon cooler temperature here in Florida. You bet your ass these will be in my bag for my Colorado trip in January though!

^^ This mug is the reason I DID NOT skip this month’s box even though I already read the book. In September OwlCrate boxes, they include a ceramic mug from Cara Kozik and they are always awesome! I didn’t get last year’s mug because I was stuck on the wait list BUT I GOT THIS YEAR’S! I am so in love with it. The art work is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

^^ The next item in the Masters of Disguise box was this foaming bath soak inspired by The Diabolic. It’s a little glittery and smells a bit fruity. It is made by Leeloo Soaps. I havent used it yet, I just opened it to smell it. The bath products that OwlCrate includes are usually really good so I have no doubts this going to rock. I wish I had 8 more of that Children of Blood and Bone bath bomb a few months ago.

^^ Crappy picture of a great print…. This is actually one of my favorite prints I’ve gotten so far. The artist is Kristy Carter and the picture is Lila Bard from the Shades of Magic series.

^^ THE MAIN EVENT! So the book for this box was Mirage by Somaiya Daud. I am in love with the exclusive OwlCrate changes to this book. If you are in the U.S. this book has a purple cover. I have the purple ARC. Here the cover is black! It really makes it pop in my opinion. They also put a gold feather on the front of the book under the dust jacket. I don’t believe that is on the store version. As always the book is signed and there is a letter from the author.

That was it for September! Next month theme is “Lost In The Bookstore”. October will have TWO exclusive hardback new releases BOTH signed. It will also have an item from Out Of Print. As it stands right now, this box is SOLD OUT but I would highly recommend getting on the waitlist because some spots may open up after Oct. 1st. Since October’s box is potentially already sold out we were given the theme for November early (pictured below)! Hints of what’s in it to come!
