Book Tag: This or That!

MMmmmmmmmmm…… Pancaaaaaaaakkeeeessssssssssss………….

OK! So I am FINALLY doing this book tag. I haven’t been reading because I’ve been too busy stalking hurricanes (gotta love FL life) so I have been posting. To fill the void, I saw this book tag over on Sleepy Sam Reads book blog a couple of weeks ago and even though I wasn’t tagged in it I still told her I was stealing it for a rainy day.

Well guess what….. It’s raining its ass off right now so let’s do this thing!!!

Bookish This or That Tag

1. Series or standalone?

So at this point in time in my life I am going to go with a standalone. I love series. I follow a lot of series…… Since I follow a lot of series I can’t commit to any more series therefore standalones are my friends.

2. Magic earned or magic born?

Magic earned always seems to end up being a cool story. Lots of characters are born with magic they didn’t know they had so I totally dig earning powers.

3. ‎Enemies to lovers or friends to lovers?

Enemies to lovers rocks. The whole love to hate you get away from me to ops I fell on your lips, (I was going to be a bit rude here but LOOKIE I censored myself), is always entertaining. The friends to lovers is over done. why can’t we just let friends be friends? Especially with male/female relationships. IT IS POSSIBLE FOR OPPOSITE SEXES TO HAVE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS PEOPLE!

4. ‎Hilarious banter or emotional ruin?

This one is both. I read a wide variety of things. I love to laugh out loud (which earns me a look that my husband is going to send me to the nut house) and I actually like to get depressed over a book. I like to live and feel the story in my head. So I’ll take a healthy balance of both.

5. ‎Love triangle or insta love?

Is the love triangle going to be twisted and tragic? Lets go with that. Instant love is sometimes puke worthy.

6. ‎Keyboard smash names or all names start with the same letter?

I am going to take the start with the same letter option here. I like to be able to pronoun or at least sound out a name. If I can’t…. well I’ll be making up my own name. Sorry not sorry.

7. ‎Mean parents or dead parents?

Ok this one really depends on the story being told but for the sake of “this or that” let’s go with dead parents.

8. ‎Supermodel looks or constantly says how “plain” they are?

This is a neither for me because both are super annoying. People are unique so let’s be imaginative people.

9. ‎Face on cover vs. typography on cover?

Typography tends to look better…. Take my Grace and Fury book for example: In my August Owl Crate post the Owl Crate exclusive cover is 100000000X’s better than the original cover with the faces ( I did picture both in that post)

10. ‎Villain turning a little good or hero turning a little bad?

I like it when a villain turns good (within reason). Gotta keep that bad boy swag going!

11. ‎Best friend dies or love interest dies?

Ok this really depends on the book. I’ll take some Romeo and Juliet crap any day. I like tragic. Best friend…. the best Best Friend death was in Wintergirls… That still gets to me…

12. ‎Awesome writing with a dull plot or amazing plot with murderously bad writing?

This one is easy. AMAZING PLOT with crappy writing. Great writing makes the experience more enjoyable but let’s be honest here…. I don’t care how great your writing is, if your plot sucks, reading your book is going to put me to sleep and it wont get read.

13. ‎Cliffhanger ending or heartbreaking ending?

I will take the heartbreaking ending. Cliffhangers drive me absolutely obsessive bat shit CRAZY if I dont have access to the next book. Now a heartbreaker… You have closure. Probably a good cry along with it and call it a day. But then again maybe that’s just the sado- masochist in me because I will purposely seek out the most tragic anime I can find so whatever….

14. ‎Breaking the spine or dog-earing the pages?

Holy shit…. I think my soul just ripped apart reading this question. NEITHER! NOT EVER! I can ALWAYS find something to use as a bookmark…. Or I’ll just text myself my page number. Yes, I’ve done that to avoid book damage.

15. ‎“Bad boy” trope or “perfect golden boy” trope as the love interest?

Bad Boy. I will always pick the bad boy. Perfect golden boys are too predictable and not interesting in my opinion. The bad boy can fuel my adventurous spirit.

So that’s that!! Do you share some of these opinions? Drop a comment! I am going to go ahead and tag Southern and Sassy Wine Lady

Have a great day everyone!!!
