The Dwarf Did It...

The Elusive Earl

The Elusive Earl
The Elusive Earl (Saints and Scoundrels #2) by Maddison Michaels

Brianna Penderley has a knack for getting into precarious situations, especially when it comes to her love for archaeology. In the heart of Naples, her terrible Italian has her accidentally becoming engaged to two men at the same time. Of course, Daniel Wolcott—the Earl of Thornton and the only man ever able to vex her—shows up to rescue her.

Daniel has spent the majority of his life exercising rigid control over his emotions, determined never to become the rake his father was. But when he goes to aid his mentor’s danger-prone niece once again, he finds himself struggling to control his attraction to a woman who is his complete opposite.

When their situation goes from bad to worse, Daniel and Brianna find themselves swept up into a perilous adventure, and they must work together to set things right. Now, if they can just avoid killing each other in the process.” ~ Description from Goodreads

This book rocked! I loved the story line in book 2 of Saints and Scoundrels a 1000 times more than the first! This storyline also had a Indiana Jones feel to it and we all know I LOVE Indiana Jones so of course I was going to love a romance centered around finding the treasure of a lost civilization.

This book took us on an adventure through Italy which was a great change from an English setting. Brianna was the BEST heroine in this series so far. She is always speaking her mind and has that awesome Italian no-nonsense attitude. (I could totally relate to her as a red-headed Italian myself). I liked Daniel…. I just which there was a little more back story on him that showed just how much of a badass he is.

I love the way this series is going. Turns that all the characters are connected. I squealed with joy when Delvin, The Devilish Duke, made an appearance at the end of The Elusive Earl! Characters being connected in a series, but still able to read them as a stand alone is one of my favorite things. I like wondering which of my favorite side characters are getting their book next…. Is it going to be Travis? He did just run off with the Italian mafia’s daughter heehee…. OR are we going to flash forward because I KNOW those twins are going to be trouble?

Cant wait to see what this crew get themselves into next time! Put this book on your TBR. You wont regret it! This series really is a 5 star adventure in regency romance.

Maddison Michaels exploded into the world of romance this year with The Devilish Duke (which was the first book I actually got approved to read and review for this blog) and has shot to the top of my favorite authors list with The Elusive Earl.

If you would like to read The Elusive Earl you can get it now as an ebook from the amazon link below. Me personally, I’m waiting for the paperback pre-sale. It already has a spot saved on my bookshelves. The Elusive Earl can be read as a stand alone but if you are interested in reading The Devilish Duke along with it I included a link to it as well. I would like to add as a side note: I am talking with Maddison Michaels about doing a giveaway for a signed copy of The Devilish Duke here on my blog later this year. Hopefully I can pull it off SO STAY TUNED!
