The Duke With The Dragon Tattoo By Kerrigan Byrne
“He is known only as The Rook. A man with no name, no past, no memories. He awakens in a mass grave, a magnificent dragon tattoo on his muscled forearm the sole clue to his mysterious origins. His only hope for survival—and salvation—lies in the deep, fiery eyes of the beautiful stranger who finds him. Who nurses him back to health. And who calms the restless demons in his soul…
A LEGENDARY LOVE
Lorelei will never forget the night she rescued the broken dark angel in the woods, a devilishly handsome man who haunts her dreams to this day. Crippled as a child, she devoted herself to healing the poor tortured man. And when he left, he took a piece of her heart with him. Now, after all these years, The Rook has returned. Like a phantom, he sweeps back into her life and avenges those who wronged her. But can she trust a man who’s been branded a rebel, a thief, and a killer? And can she trust herself to resist him when he takes her in his arms?” ~ Description from Goodreads
I actually won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. Can you believe THAT? This book was FANTASTIC! This was the first book I have ever read by this author and I couldn’t be happier. Loved it so much I’ve added EVERY SINGLE other book in the Victorian Rebels series to my book jar for future purchase. I NEED to know about these other characters…. (I’d buy them now but that husband of mine has a book ban in place… SMH….)
When I signed up for this Goodreads giveaway the description gave no indication of pirates…. So when it turned out this is a pirate romance (to some degree) I completely fan girled….. Like face hurting from grinning….. Should have known though with a name like The Rook and pirates being my obsession (followed by witches and vikings). I loved Kerrigan Byrne’s writing style. There was not a single part of this story that was boring. I was entertained all the way to the end. The twists were a bit predictable in my opinion but I’m ok with that. This has more mature character age wise which is pretty awesome. The 20 something’s dominate romance and well…. I’m leaving my 20’s >.>
According to Amazon this book releases August 28th, 2018. (The cover of my ARC says September but August is MUCH better). If you are interested in pre-ordering a copy for yourself or just want to learn more about the book please visit the Amazon link below!
Lovely pastiche, nicely overdone concoction of Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, Dracula and Les Miserable. Victorian with a vengeance, delicious, creamy, molten passion. What a bait for book! Bravo Byrne!
