Shadows and Secrets (OwlCrate April 2k18)

OCA 7

YAY!!! So it’s time to talk about April’s Owl Crate!! I know I’m a little late on this post. I usually do this post towards the last day of the month out of respect for my fellow subscribers! IDK about you guys but I HATE HATE HATE spoilers. SOOOO April’s theme was Shadows and Secrets. Here we go with the reveal…..

^^ This soap was AWESOME…. I was base on Shadowhunter and it has a fruity smell to it but not over powering in your face. Which was a good thing because I’m not big on fruity scents. This company makes handmade soaps and they are divine! The colors of it are beautiful and just touching it makes your hands feel soft. This was a very pleasant surprise and I’ve already looked up this company to see what other soaps they offer and in what other scents. Loved this packaging too. And the brand name… HAHA! Overall… LOVE IT!

^^ Harry Potter pencils with quotes that matched the Shadows and Secrets theme. The picture does not do them justice. The rich gold and red almost make them too beautiful to sharpen. I WILL BE SHARPENING THEM SOON THOUGH! I’m going to use them to finish writing my book 😉 I’m old school…. I like to write it out and edit before typing it up.

OCA 5

^^ The pin from the April crate. Owl Crate always makes the pin from the design on theme card.

OCA 8

^^ This month had a vinyl sticker from The Young Elites. I have not read it but I love this quote. It’s true even in real life, not just in fantasies. The girl on the front is the main character. I love that whenever Owl Crate features a sticker it is thick and heavy-duty. Built to last on your laptop, phone, e-reader….. where ever you choose to stick it. I havent used this one or the Alice in Wonderland one from a few boxes ago yet. My plan for these is to hit up the craft store and turn them into magnets. I was thinking about doing it for the pins as well… I’ll let you all know how it goes when I get around to that project.

OCA 11

^^ OK so the Bones coffee was the sneak peek we received at the end of last month so I was STOKED for this item. I’ve been wanting to try out this coffee for a long time. I was a little apprehensive about the flavor. I’m that weird person who HATES chocolate. (I know I’m demon spawn LOL) I was very surprised and 100% please with this flavor. It wasnt over powering and left the house smelling FANTASTIC for hours. It was a huge “sample” too. I made 2 FULL pots of coffee out of it. Bones Coffee has a lot of unique flavors. I think I’ll be ordering the coconut rum flavor next because well….. Pirate OBSESSED over here!!

OCA 10

^^ The Legendary excerpt…. It’s the first 3 chapters… This is exciting AND disappointing all at once. I love this because Legendary is on my to be read list and I don’t have an ARC… I hate it because unfortunately I can’t read it. I’m probably the only person in the world who hasn’t read Caraval yet…. It’s on list…. I just havent been able to buy it yet and I wasnt an Owl Crate subscriber when they featured it last year. I was on the wait list. ONE DAY…. One day very very very very very soon………………..

OCA 1

^^ Besides the book, this would be what you call the “big-ticket item”. Inside the Shadows and Secrets box we had a pillow case. The quote if from Crooked Kingdom. The pillow case is extra-large and pretty soft. I LOVE this quote. Again relative real world quote. I already have it on my bed and I am making plans to buy new sheets to match.

OCA 14

^^ The April box had Ace of Shades as the book. I really like the cover. The Owl Crate exclusive print has this brownish cover instead of the red cover you see at the book store. I actually prefer the brown… Makes it feel “darker”, which fit this theme perfectly.

OCA 4

^^ As always in 2018, the book is signed. My signature is black. I saw on Owl Crate’s official unboxing that a few books were signed in silver so if you received a silver signature, LUCKY!! I’m happy with mine though. Any signed book is automatically special to me.

OCA 2

So next month, or should I say THIS month since I’m late posting, the theme is Fight Like A Girl. This card is the sneak peek and its a bath bomb!! I love bath bombs. Its my alone time to relax and read. For mother’s day I even bought bath bombs this year for myself and others. I got the ones that have a ring them LoL.

The book that will be featured is going to be viking based which is awesome. I love vikings almost as much as pirates. I also found out that May’s Owl Crate is going to feature a second book. The genre for that one is contemporary… rumor has it still dark fantasy. The ladies at Owl Crate also revealed that May’s box is going to be THE MOST PACKED so far at the end of April’s unboxing video on their Facebook page.

I can’t recommend this box enough. It NEVER disappoints. I you want your own PLEASE GIVE INTO TEMPTATION! You will not regret it. Just click the link below.
