The Dwarf Did It...

Artifacts (LootCrate April 2018)

OOOOKKKKK…… This is going to be a quick post and my pics aren’t all that great. I hate to say that I will be cancelling my Loot Crate subscription. It’s turning out that every other month is a bad month. I’m a bit saddened that I need to find my nerdy fix else where, but I just can not justify spending the month on this subscription anymore. Next month has a good theme too…. but so did this….. Alright, lets dive in and again sorry for the crap photos this go round.

The theme for this month was Artifacts, which includes things from Marvel, Lord of the Rings, Zelda and The Dark Crystal…. Sounds epic right????

^^ So the item from Zelda was a printed map of Hyrule. I actually really like this map. The paper it is printed on feels neat and the map is very cleared and detailed. As I’ve stated in previous posts, Zelda is one of my favorite games. What disappointed me about this item was the fact that IS a print. The month before, Loot Crate had featured a Fallout print. I’m not planning on wallpapering my room so ANOTHER print is kind of uncool. Especially being pretty munch back to back.

^^ This month’s pin was pretty cool. No complaints there. Loot Crate pins usually always metal and nice. I have not been online to see what this month’s pin unlocks. I’ll look now….. It’s a digital copy of Thanos #1

^^ The figurine was Frodo. He actually looks really good out of the box. I have him sitting on my bookshelf next to my LoTR trilogy. He is cute. Very sturdy and well made.

^^ This kind of broke my heart…. I was REALLY looking forward to The Dark Crystal item. It’s a set of six note cards. Note cards that I will NEVER use. I was hoping this item was going to be the item that I could put on display. Something unique. I’m currently in the process of figuring out how I want to turn these graphics on the cards into a piece of art that I can frame and hang up.

^^ Yes I doodled on this one. I sent this pic to a friend on FB messenger. Even when a Loot Crate sucks I can always depend on this shirt. Not this time….. I don’t even want to take a new pic for this post. The quality of it is great as always but I can’t get over the look…. I dont like it…. It’s waaaaayyyy to childish for me and that’s saying a lot. I will be passing it to my 12 year old son…. I fell that’s more age appropriate.

^^ This is a screen shot for May’s box… I LOVE the look of it. Love the featured franchises but I just can’t bring myself to buy another box.

My adventure with Loot Crate had a lot of wins. I was cancelling my subscription while writing this and I was offered a 20% discount to stay.  I was tempted because I like the look of the May box but in 2018 every other box has been a miss for me. Plus I’d be pissed if next month was a miss too.

Stay tuned for reviews of a new subscription box like this one. I’m moving next month so I’m going to take the time to find every box that is out there in this category and pick one. Maybe even do a comparison of a few. Will pick back up on this part of my blog posts this summer 😉
