The Dwarf Did It...

April Life in Pics Update

So today is May first to its time for an April recap. I have 3 reviews that I need to post for books. Which will be coming. I PROMISE! I’m currently reading Shadowless by Randall McNally. Making slow progress be a of everything going on but I will get my reading on track! Now for pics

This was the cookbook that I pulled a recipe out of to feature a “bookish” recipe. I wanted to feature some food this month and include the World of Warcraft cookbook as my throwback April recommendation. (Yes I’m two bird one stoning here).  I made the Dragonbreath Chili and HOLY SHIT best chili I have EVER had. 10 stars. Check the recipe in the pic below and if you like book and game themed cookbooks, look into one. I’m dying to make more food from here.

^^ Speaking of food. I got these RX Bars in the mail to try and review. I’m pretty excited about these and already have them in my pack for my next hike.

Received some bookish mail from Mr. Hutson this past month. Signed cover art of one of the first books I reviewed on this blog. I’m so in love with this and can’t wait to have it framed and hung near my bookshelves.

On the topic of bookish mail…. I got actual book mail this month. All three of these were actually Goodreads giveaways that I won. I won two other books as well in April but they haven’t arrived yet so I’ll feature them in my May recap.

^^ Some much needed time to regroup. Sat here on the beach and formulated some game plans.

^^ This candle was sent to me by a very good friend of mine as a pick me up. This month was rocky. I have a child that is schizophrenic and this month was a particularly rough month. Had to cut back on work hours, enroll in homeschool for the time being etc etc…. This small surprise was just what the doctor ordered to keep my spirits up. I’m totally obsessed with pirates ( we all know this) and she found a candle called Pirates Revenge! How cool is that!! The description of the scent out a smile on my face and continues to do so every time I light it. The scent is musty ocean water, salty sea air, and cannon fire smoke. To me it smells like a beach bonfires and totally calms my nerves, especially with the help of a little rum. Spireside Candles has a lot of cool themes. I checked their website after getting this one and all of their candles are book or fantasy land themed. All of the scent descriptions are like this one and tie into the name of the candle. It’s pretty awesome and all book lovers should check them out.

Here is a picture of my cat protesting his lack of attention this past weekend because you know what it was…….

THAT’S RIGHT!!!! ROCKVILLE!!! Ended the month of April with some much needed fun.

These firework over the weekend is the only picture that captures my excitement of seeing M Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold LIIIIVVEEEEE!!!! FINALLY! They are a million times better live. If I wasn’t in love before, I’m totally head over heels for them now.

That’s it for April. Lots of ups and downs. But life is like that. You can’t win them all. What matters is your support system and how you handle it. I’d probably still be a debby downer if it wasn’t for the support of my friends and family. A little bit of good music also helps.

Lots of reviews coming in May. Like I stayed before, I’ll be posting 3 book reviews for some things I read but haven’t gotten around to posting. I still have April’s Owl Crate review to come as well as a recipe or two from my Harry Potter cookbook…. See you around!!
