The Dwarf Did It...

Price Guide to the Occult

The Price Guide to the Occult by Leslye Walton

This book had a very Practical Magic type feel to it but with some every deep dark twist. This book starts off with a cool back story about the first Blackburn woman that came to the island and how all the future Blackburn women became cursed for future generations. This story focused mostly on Nor and her mother. The relationship between them and the extent that Nor’s mother, Fern, will go to to achieve ultimate power outside of her own burdens is where this book gets gruesome and twisted. Over all this book was a great read especially if you like books about witches. I won’t give out any spoilers but I am going to throw a trigger warning out for this book. There is a lot of mention of self harm. I will also say I don’t feel like this book came full circle… Will there be a sequel? I’ll be keeping an eye out that’s for sure. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars with some bonus points for the red pages! That’s just awesome. (Too bad my read was a NetGalley… BUT this is on my to buy list for my home library!)
